What an enjoyable Saturday I have had!

The day I spent grocery shopping for a Norwegian style brunch we are making for Casper's family tomorrow, picking flowers from a tree in the neighborhood to put in my brand new Fenton hobnail milk glass vase and enjoying my absolute favorite drink; Lorina Pink Lemonade in the sun.

The evening we have spent dining at Lofoten Fiskeresturant and boy did they serve some good food!

Happy weekend cupcakes! How have this last week in April been treating you? Oslo has really been showing off with wonderful spring weather and temperatures and it seems that it will last over the weekend as well. Oh joy!

Me? I am a busy bee these days - there are just so many things that need to be done when you are moving! I need to find a moving company and that is quite a task alone I must say - so far I have been receiving offers from 7000 to 35 000 kr (1330 - 6700 $) for the same job... How is that even possible? On top of that I am looking for jobs, looking for an apartment and need to plan some sort of 'good bye' party or dinners with just about everyone I know in town before we move. Phui!

So if you don't see me around as much as usually these days - at least you know why.

Anyway, all that stress will have to be put on hold now and wait until after the weekend because we have Casper’s parents, sister and uncle coming over to visit us in Oslo this weekend. Looking forward to seeing them again, it seems like ages ago I visited them in Holland last  autumn!

I have gray on my mind these days!

I am fantasizing about how I want our new home to turn out and gray is a big part of that mental picture. Thoughts like 'Now why didn't I paint this one gray earlier?' or 'I wonder where I can find a matte spray in just the right shade of gray?' are constantly rummaging around in my head.

And in that lies the question. What is the right shade of gray for us?

Should I go with a cold gray that touches up against blue and that will go just perfectly with a pastel colors scheme? One that makes me think about driftwood, the sea or concrete.

Or should I go for a warmer gray that blends well with natural materials like wood, wool and stone? One that is perfect to pair up with a warm shade of pink or beige.

Good Monday morning cupcakes!

How has the Easter weekend been treating you so far? We have had the most wonderful time with sun, summer temperatures and a lot of good food and relaxation. Today we are rounding it all off with rosemary and garlic marinated lamb & a bottle of red wine. Yum!

Some of you have been asking how my milk glass collection is coming along so here are a few pictures of the pieces I have been able to get my hands on so far.

At first I imagined that I would be collection decorative pieces only but then I fell in love with a Sunkist juicer and now I am collecting various kitchen items as well.

I am trying to take it easy and not buy more stuff these days since we are moving soon and it only means more stuff to drag all the way across the country, but let me tell you it is hard with all the lovely milk glass on Etsy! I am still awaiting a candle holder and another vase that is on the way in the mail but after that it is full STOP!

One of my favorite items so far is the small fan shaped hobnail vase from Fenton that you can see in the middle picture. So pretty! Next up on my wish list is an identical big one.

Earlier today I decided to test out my cooking skills with these strawberry and white chocolate muffins with vanilla glazing. And let me tell you - when it comes to baking I am no Martha Stewart...

Now, I know they look like road kill but I can ensure you they taste like heaven!

For weeks now our home has been filled with yellow tulips and Easter lilies.
Figures that now that the Easter is finally here I have quite had it with them for now!

So today I bought pale pink and white roses. Typical me.

For me it is not quite summer until I have a new white dress hanging in the closet and a fresh box of body butter from The Bodyshop on the bathroom shelf.

This year I ended up with this dress from H&M and the scent 'Pink Grapefruit'. It smells amazing!

Me and Cas are planning a nice and quiet Easter at home with just the two of us, a lot of good food and season four of Supernatural. Sounds just like the perfect Easter to me!

Oh Sunday, lovely Sunday! The sun is peeking in the window and I am enjoying a cup of tea with honey while Casper is making his Sunday specialty for breakfast. 

On top of that I can look forward to a very short week at work before the Easter holiday.

Life does not get much better than this!

Finally Friday cupcakes! Phew! And just a few days left until Easter!

How are the Easter preparations coming along at your house? I have to admit that I am not the one that decorates the most for Easter, but at least I got some yellow tulips and I am sure to leave my few yellow things out on the table - for this week only!

We are planning a nice and quiet weekend maybe with the exception of a small trip to IKEA tomorrow to pick up a few things we need to bring with us up north.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Things to be happy about today:

1. This adorable milk glass bowl that Cas found in a thrift store this weekend.
   We got it for 10 kr / 1,20 € / 1,80 $ - what a steal!
2. 7 weeks left until we move up north! We are SO excited about it!
3. That I ordered a new wide angle lens for my camera that is on its way in the mail.
   Can't wait to test it out!
4. Just a few days until the weekend is upon us again and next week I have Easter holiday from Wednesday. Oh joy!

Boy oh boy did I get my wish!

I woke up today to an amazing weather and we have had temperatures closing in on 20 degrees Celsius. Was so nice walking home from work and not having to wear my jacket!

Ah, lovely Saturday! I am just enjoying my iced coffee before we will jump in our brand new tracking boots and have a long stroll around town. We need to break them in and make them nice and comfy before we move up north so we won't have to struggle with blisters while walking some mountain!

And later I think I will have a go at making homemade focaccia. I never got around to that last weekend since I had forgotten to buy yeast. *shame* 
I am just such a rookie when it comes to baking!

I had a look around the house and it seems that this weekend we are decorating with 'yesterdays' flowers. The flowers from a potted plant that had started to hang with their head still looks lovely in a vase and those fantastic tulips looks as good as ever in a bowl of water.

What about you, do you keep your flowers as long as you can or do you toss them out as soon as they show some sign of decay?
